…or is it the “Student becomes the Master”?   Well, “What Ever” either way last night was really great!   Oh wait; maybe you didn’t catch what is going to happen on Tuesday nights.   Originally, because of something I’ve committed to at church it looked as if I was going to need to get some substitutes for the Tuesday night classes.   So I made arrangements with the upper ranks that each of them would take one week each month and teach the Tuesday night class.   I would then miss my commitment one week each month so that I would also work through the rotation.   Best laid plans…   after working everything out; I was informed at church that the night was moved to Wednesdays.

Well in the spirit of “Getting AT IT” and the suggestion of Ms. Jea, it was determined that we would keep it the way everyone agreed.   So now, 3 Tuesdays of every month I don’t have to teach, I get to train! And last night was the first of what looks to be excitements to come.   Now I can see that there is going to be an adjustment period for both the upper ranks and myself.   First, I could see Mr. Joe (last night’s instructor) looking to me for some reassurance that what he was saying was right. Additionally, I had to work to hold my tongue not to clarify/verify anything that he was saying. But after a while I think we both settled into our new roles.

It was really “exciting” and “therapeutic” to just enjoy class.   I purposely didn’t speak much to anyone.   I attempted as much as possible not to talk with my “partners” and I simply listened to Mr. Joe’s instructions.   I had to turn off my filters.   Which incidentally every student needs to do, we all have our perceptions and we filter new information through those filters.   So I had to turn off the “master” filter and except the information for face value and work the exercise as it was presented.   Cool thing, “Man, did I get a ton out of it.”

Additionally, I got to take off my instructor lenses and not worry about guiding the others.   It was an interesting experience to have Mr. Kirk (he was helping Mr. Joe guide the students) guide my movements.

I was excited for the new experiences and can’t wait for next week. “Cmon all you “Dudes” come check out the new student!    It’s Mr. Kirk’s night to run the training… I bet it’s going to be an exciting workout!
