So what about rule 4? Joel asked me about it and I knee jerk responded to him. I told him it was Journaling. Which technically probably isn’t true, in fact, 1,2 & 3 might be off somewhat. To stay true though to our number system (again you can make arguments for a completely different rule system) I’m going to say number 4 is WATER! No I have not always been a big fan of drinking water. Water is pretty boring!
I’m going to step up on my soap box here for a minute. Have you noticed there seems to be a strong connection with God’s overall plan for us and “simplicity?” It seems that all the things that are good for us are pretty bland or as some might say less than favorable in the taste department. You know he gave us this power of choice and then seem to subdue the simple “good for us” choices. Remember in Indiana Jones III when he is looking for the Holy Grail. There he is standing looking for it as his father dies and there are all these chalices in gold and silver encrusted with jewels and he state that no it would be something simple and he chooses the one made of wood, something simple for a humble carpenter.
God’s plan for us is simplicity. Healthy foods are designed to sustain us not necessarily to entice and thrill us with exotic flavors. Our job, for lack of a better term, is to find enjoyment in these less than tantalizing meals. Yes, I like I’m sure everyone else, struggle with this. See now you know God has a sense of humor… such as ice cream. No wait that’s not funny!
Okay, I’ll step down now. So yes, here’s water! It offers so much for the processes of our perfectly designed body. No, it has no nutrients or anything but what it does is be the catalyst for everything to work in the body. No, I am no expert on all the science of it all and NO I have not been a huge fan of water. What I am learning though is what it does and I am BECOMING a huge fan of the process. Thus, I am drinking a ton more water and I’m pretty certain feeling a whole lot better because of it. Yes, I am starting to enjoy water a whole lot more.
So how much? Well the overall standard is about 64 oz per day or a gallon. The “Water Cure” recommends ½ oz per pound of body weight. So if you weighed 200 lbs you should be drinking more like 100 oz of water per day.
Here’s everything in a nut shell:
We are designed to drink pure, natural water. (www.watercure.com)
So you can determine which rule water is for you.
